EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company produces a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can accommodate many different bodies and upfits for a variety of applications. The platform's design philosophy of clean sheets allows for optimal battery pack placement and lower center of gravity resulting in higher payload to range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks of class 4' one interior wall structure and a higher insulation level than conventional trucks, allow for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer lifespan. The EV Star REEFERX delivers superior cargo capacity and a world-class payload to range ratio for zero-emission goods and passenger transportation.

GreenPower has joined forces with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to quickly transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW.
We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on a local highway for several hours and found it to be simple to drive and comfortable to drive for long distances. The ride is smooth over bumps and ruts, while the EV9 is a master of reducing wind and road noise on the highway. The acceleration is quite quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by simply lifting off of the accelerator.
The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully recharged within three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. green mobility scooters can choose between two modes of operation that include eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode prioritizes the torque and cruise control, as well as handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and offer a unique driving experience for those who have never driven an electric vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicle offerings including a multi-purpose all-electric minibus called the EV Star. more.. is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, micro-transit, transit bus, vanpool, or a paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower is currently producing around 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demand of the Biden Administration who is planning to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be tested by Altoona and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant and ADA certified. This means that they are eligible for federal assistance in transit. We will be following the AV Star as it goes on its demonstration tour later this year. We will give more details about this EV that is truly innovative!
